Founded in a dorm room at Florida Atlantic University by Brent Oxley, HostGator has grown into a leading provider of Shared, Reseller, VPS, and Dedicated web hosting. HostGator is headquartered in Houston and Austin, Texas, with several international offices throughout the globe. Endurance International Group acquired them in 2012 and have grown them globally. Hostgator is a great host provider along with the other 3 above and we find them surprisingly fast. We haven't used them long enough to rate them but they seem like a good contender for top place.

Founded in 1997, GoDaddy employs approximately 6000+ employees globally and known for their creative advertising on TV and newspapers. You've probably seen their Superbowl commercials on TV. We put them 3rd because it was a bit confusing to set up and sites we built came in a bit slower than the ones above. Nevertheless, great company with a wide variety of services.
